STAYING IN TOUCH WHILE AT SEA

Getting away doesn’t mean you have to be out of touch.  Each cruise line and ship varies as far as availability, but some or all of these options are available for you to get in touch with family and friends while onboard.

  • Internet – Cruise ships offer Internet access available for a fee.  Rates vary from cruise line to cruise line.  While this can be expensive, most ships offer some type of package to make this more accessible to their guests that need to stay in touch online.
  • Cell phones – Some ships will offer advanced roaming onboard their ships.  Others you may have to wait until you reach a port to get a good signal.  Service may vary depending upon your destination and your cell phone plan.  Review your cell phone plan prior to leaving to avoid any unexpected charges.  And don’t forget to pack your charger.
  • Phone/Fax – Friends or family can reach you 24 hours a day via the cruise line’s Satellite Service.  Faxes can also be sent, for a fee, from shore to ship by dialing a special number.  Review your cruise line’s Web site for these important numbers to leave with your family and friends that may need to reach you.
